German Federal Real Estate Agency Bima leases 5,000 sqm of offices in Chemnitz
23. November 2022Immobilien Zeitung, a leading German real estate weekly, reported on November 23, 2022:
DVI has leased 5,000 sqm of office space in Annaberger Strasse in Chemnitz to the Federal Agency for Real Estate Agency (Bima) on a long-term basis. The space is to be used by the German Federal Police. DVI purchased the office complex with 370 car parking spaces from two closed-end real estate funds in 2019. Until then, it had housed the city’s Technical City Hall. Other tenants in the property include the health insurance company IKK Classic, the City of Chemnitz, another Federal Office (Bundesverwaltungsamt) and the educational service provider Stiftung Bildung und Handwerk (SBH). “We took over the former Technical City Hall in 2020 completely empty. We are therefore all the more pleased that we have now been able to conclude the second lease agreement with Bima in this property and have thus leased 75 percent of the total rental space of 23,000 sqm,” emphasizes DVI Managing Director Karsten Kluge. Full occupancy is targeted by the first quarter of 2023. DVI is active in Berlin, Chemnitz and Erfurt. In Chemnitz and Erfurt, the company now has more than 150,000 sqm of rental space in office buildings.
