This housing complex was built by the Volkswagen Foundation in 1972 to house employees of the neighbouring Max Planck Institute. For this purpose, the city of Berlin made the property available free of ground rent for a period of 75 years. The Max Planck Society was granted an official right to select the tenants.

The residential complex near Dreipfuhl Park consists of four two-and-a-half-storey apartment blocks with pent roofs and spacious front gardens, and is easily accessible by road via Clayallee. The apartments are bright and welcoming. Tenants have their own cellars available.
